Why does ClearNow AI need media access?

ClearNow AI needs permission to read device media to detect duplicates, burst photos, and large files. On Android 13+, it requests READ_MEDIA_IMAGES and READ_MEDIA_VIDEO. On Android 14+, you can select specific photos. ClearNow never requests broad storage access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) and performs all processing on-device.

How do I refresh or rescan my storage?

Pull down on the home dashboard or tap the Refresh icon in any category header. ClearNow immediately scans your local MediaStore to detect newly added or deleted media.

How does Screenshot Selection work?

ClearNow identifies screenshots by evaluating image folder paths and system metadata. Screenshots are classified under the REVIEW tier; ClearNow displays them in an interactive gallery so you can choose which receipts or temporary snippets to clean. Nothing is deleted automatically.

How does "Best Pick" work in Similar Photos?

ClearNow evaluates sharpness, focus, lighting, and composition across visually clustered burst photos to suggest a Best Pick by default. You can inspect all photos side-by-side, choose a different favorite, or keep all items.

How do I review Large Videos?

The Large Video view sorts video recordings by file size so you can quickly free gigabytes of space. Large Video cleanup is an optional feature that can be unlocked by watching a brief rewarded video advertisement.

Why does Android show a system confirmation dialog?

ClearNow uses official Android MediaStore APIs. Modern Android releases require the operating system to confirm user authorization before files are moved to system trash or permanently deleted. ClearNow honors this OS protection.

How do I manage my ad privacy choices?

ClearNow integrates Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can adjust your consent choices at any time from the app Settings under 'Ad Privacy Choices'.

How do I share feedback or rate the app?
